When we booked at Nomads, we booked a package called the Silly Season package which included a double room, a bottle of bubbly on arrival, coffee and tea making facilities and a free meal. Then, when we arrived at Nomads they charged us $100 more than what it should have been, we were put in the wrong room, no bottle of bubbly and no coffee and tea making facilities. We didn't know what to do. We went back down the lift and told the girl at reception. She was rude and didn't seem to give a shit. My sisters husband rang and sorted it all out, they refunded us the extra money we paid and gave us the key to the room we were MEANT to be in. That room was really nice. Still no bubbly or tea&coffee, but we couldn't be bothered with another trip down stairs. Later that day, we decided to go out. We arrive back at the backpackers to find the lift broken. We were on the 3rd floor. that's like 6 flights of stairs plus the 4 wee steps in between each flight. that was fine, but after 3 days of climbing that many stairs i was not a happy chappy! they didn't apologize for the inconvenience or anything. The kitchen was absolutely disgusting. Messy and dirty. I wouldn't cook in it. The overall experience was bad ! My stay there really ruined my trip. The day we left, we dragged our bags down the stairs, asked them to hold our bags and went out. When we came back to collect our bags the lift was fixed. lol typical. I know its a backpackers but i expected a little better service for the price we were paying. Would not stay there again.

The worst experience I had there.

I have never stayed worse accommodation than Nomads Capital.

Because of the over-booking I could not stay in the room as I booked. Taking over 10 min to check in, but there was no explanation about over-booking. First day, I stayed in a downgraded room. I claimed about it and stayed in upgraded room on the second day, then charged extra. I also claimed about it but the accommodation just said 'We often have over-booking, but nobody has claimed about it'. I have got no apology about all the inconvenience by over-booking.

Don't get the dinner!!!

My first impressions of this backpackers was good, although it was the most expensive dorm room I have stayed in. It did however offer clean accommodation and ensuites with each room.

The biggest downer was the meal offered at the bar, we upgraded from the "free" meal to a full size and it was possibly the worst meal I have ever been served! Cold plan pasta with mixed vege, we ordered "chicken" pasta salad, I think there was only one tiny (5c piece size) bit in each meal. I would like to know the budget on the meals offered, for $4 I could have bought a nice burger somewhere. When we told the barman how rubbish it was, he simply replied with "you are lucky you weren't here last night, the meal looked like vomit". Clearly these guys need to sort out the meals, just because we are backpackers doesn't mean we want rubbish meals!!!! I don´t think I would use this as a marketing ploy for a "flashpackers"!!!!!
