This place is rundown and neglected. It used to be YHA but is now privately owned. The bedrooms have a musty/old smell.The mattress/pillows are hard, the blankets are old & grey. The showers are not clean, there is residue on the walls, on the curtains(which are torn, around the pan. The toilets are filthy, the walls need cleaning/painting. The decor in the lounge is dated,dusty and tattered . The kitchen needs a decent srub, the fridge has food from goodness knows sitting there. We also noted some of the regulars staying there looked very shady. There was an odour of cannabis waffling around the hallway/lounge/kitchen.We could't get out fast enough. BE WARNED.We found there are better places to stay in Kaitaia. We also had stuff go missing and found out there is a police survellence camera CCTV ON the house
