Rhythm and Vines 2009 over New Years? 2 Years, 1 Month ago Karma: 0
Is anyone going to the festival? I found some info on their website about it: check out www.rhythmandvines.co.nz/2009

As of yet I have no travel to get down but my kiwi friend say its very good.

Buckle up children, for its the 3-day festival experience extravaganza of a lifetime culminating in the finest music from lands far and wide and the biggest and best New Year’s Eve festival experience that New Zealand has to offer. Rhythm & Vines is the first and only place in the world to see the sun rise on 2010!
Nestled within rural Gisborne's rolling hills amongst the magically, mystical vines of Waiohika Estate, Rhythm and Vines have created an amazing purpose-built concert amphitheatre and uniquely picturesque setting. This is without doubt the finest location in the land for a party and a truly world class music festival. What better way to spend summer days and nights with wonderfully strange friends?

Now in its seventh year Rhythm & Vines have had local and international superstars and up and coming bands alike grace their many stages. With over 70 bands, including Moby, Editors, Fake Blood, Empire Of The Sun, 2MANYDJS, Major Lazer, John Butler Trio and heaps of the best New Zealand acts bringing the new decade in we can promise a festival you will never forget. But the eclectic and forward-thinking line-up is only part of the R&V experience. There’s a whole range of extra-curricular fun ranging from the world famous in NZ waterslide, the Harvest Cider Shack, and of course the amazing Yellowglen Bubbly Lounge; where for a small fee you can upgrade to the full VIP experience at the event. With the highest production values for a NYE festival in NZ, R&V offers wide-ranging entertainment from theatrical stage performers, unbelievable pyrotechnics and interactive art installations, with many mind-blowing experiences ready to surprise and delight when the festival begins.

There are amazing accommodation options, from camping on Gisborne’s beaches through to a truly “up-close-and-personal” experience camping amongst lush rows of grape vines, a stone’s throw from the festival. Facilities and amenities include hot showers, a large camp marquee for meeting and lounging in, a chill out area, a cafe where you can grab breakfast every morning, regularly serviced toilets, valuables lock-up, wifi access, dedicated BBQ and picnic area where you can cook all your own food, swimming pool, and dedicated bar to help with topping up the fluids; campers can choose from Kiwi camping games such as swingball, cricket and other games or settle down and watch a late night movie at the campsite cinema. Camping with R&V allows you all the choice and comfort that you could want.

Most importantly though are the people. R&V offers a trouble free and uber-friendly festival experience – one where you will make lifelong friends and write new party stories to share with friends, family and the greater world for year’s to come.
