So as mentioned before it is one of the best places in the whole country to go sailing, you can Bungee Jump of the Harbor Bridge, or climb the Sky Tower (the tallest building in the Southern Hemisphere). The museum is well worth a visit and the Parliament buildings (that were never used) are worth looking at, there are free day trips with some of the major bus tour companies (Stray, Kiwi and more all you need to get a free leaflet, you can often get them on the main street or in most of the backpackers). They go out to One Tree Hill, Mt Eden where you will get an exceptional view of the city and other key places in the city. There is also the Star dome Observatory which gives an excellent view of the skies. Most weekends during the summer there are things going on whether they are parades down Queens Street or activities in the local parks Auckland has got something for everyone but it is know as the city with no centre it is extremely spread out and it can often feel like you are the only ones out some nights. For a laugh on a night out the Minus 5 bar is fun where every thing is made out of ice the chairs, glasses, bar though it is expensive to enter at $25 (that includes a free drink) and you can only stay for 30mins where you have to where a large coat so it kind of ruins any outfit.
