I dont usually write reviews but I feel this is neccessary as to warn other backpackers as myself as to what may be in store for you!Being a backpacker, budget accomodation is essential. Having stayed in various hostels, i had a rough idea of what to expect. Previous hostels had been well equipped for travellers, friendly and safe. However, this was not what awaited us at Princetown Accomodation. We had decided to treat ourselves to an shared appartment, feeling the need for abit of space to ourselves as hostels are big communal areas! However, this accomodation was awful! Now we realise it is 'budget' but so are hostels. We are backpackers and travelling around with the minimal is essential. So we did not have any cooking utensils apart from the very basic but figured since hostelshad provided us with all we needed, that this accomodation is more upmarket and as on the website states 'fully furnished'. However, when we arrived we were shocked to discover the size of the kitchen! A 2 ring stove, and sink, couple of shelves and a fridge. No oven! No microwave! No saucepans, chopping board etc etc. Now we understand that they are not oblidged to provide this, but it would of been helpful if they had stated so! Then we would have realised that it was not suitable for us and chosen elsewhere. It was rather upsetting as we were fully unprepared for this. We did not want to have to buy utensils as all other hostels had , as yet, provided these and it would make it difficult to travel. So we now had to cope with a wok and stove. The very basics werent even available such as a washing up brush and liquid! It made life very difficult and, as a result, we had to go buy lots which would of been unneccessary had the website given more info! I cannot fault the room, its spacious and light. However, we did book a double bed instead of the twin beds we ended up with! After dragging our suitcases down the many steps, we decided not to argue and have done with what we had. Yet another dissapointment. Please, please, PLEASE be wary when booking this accomodation. Its fine if your PREPARED but if not, choose elsewhere! |
